Here's an explanation of who is on this site.

Chickens

To help you identify your breakfast, here's who is laying what sort of egg.

Skunk is a dominique. She lays brown eggs.

Josephine is a cochin bantam.

Flossy is an auracana. She lays blue-green eggs. There are also two other auracanas who don't yet appear here.

Frieda is an "Easter egger," which some would say is an ameraucana of ill repute. She also lays blue-green eggs.

Two australorps, both named Melissa, lay brown speckled eggs.

Ducks

Our ducks are pure white Indian runners. They lay slightly blue-tinged eggs. Alas, we are down to just one drake, so no more eggs.

Geese

We used to have pilgrim geese. They have now dispersed, but you can visit one of them at Davis' Farmland in Sterling, MA.

Geese

Duck eggs look a lot like auracana chicken eggs. They are slightly larger, a bit less blue, and the color isn't as consistent either on the egg itself or from egg to egg. There's no mistaking a goose egg because of its size. Below, the egg order is chicken, duck, goose.

Dogs

Dogs don't lay any eggs. In fact, their function isn't always evident, to be honest.

Family

Children don't lay eggs either, but at least they sometimes drive the tractor.
